Choosing a Brush

One of the main things to consider when choosing a paint brush is the brush stiffness. If painting with a thicker coating, use a stiffer brush. We recommend using Clearcut Elite. If painting with high gloss, use a softer one. We recommend using Syntox. There are also versatile brushes which have a medium stiffness and work great with latex and oil-based paints, primers and stains. We recommend using XL. See the chart below for more information.

Choosing a Roller Cover

The two main things to consider when choosing a roller cover is the finish and the nap size. For the smoother finish, or less stipple, select a woven fabric. We recommend using Ultra Finish or White Dove. When production matters, and some stipple is okay, use a knit fabric. We recommend using Marathon.

Selecting a nap size is determined by what surface you are painting. If painting an ultra-smooth surface, use a smaller nap. As your surface's texture increases, so should your nap size.
